Q. How does Norwich Township determine when to begin plowing and salting roads?
A. It is the responsibility of the Franklin County Engineer's Office to alert the Norwich Township Roads Department when plowing and/or salting should begin.

Q. How does Norwich Township determine what roads get repaired?
A. Norwich Township Roads Department and the Franklin County Engineer's office survey the roads in the unincorporated areas of Norwich Township annually to identify Township roads in need of repair. Once these roads are identified, the Norwich Township Trustees make the final decision as to which roads will be repaired.

Q. How many miles of roads are in Norwich Township?
A. There are approximately 13.9 miles of roadways in the unincorporated areas of Norwich Township.

Q. What do I do if I have a fallen tree on my property?
A. Removal of fallen trees on private property is the property owner's responsibility. Norwich Township Roads Department and the City of Hilliard will remove trees that are blocking a road, a sidewalk or that have fallen within the Township/City's right-of-way. To report a tree down within the unincorporated areas of Norwich Township during normal business hours, call the Roads Department at (614) 876-2236. To report a tree down within the City of Hilliard during normal business hours, call (614) 876-7361. If it is after hours regardless of its location, please contact the Hilliard Police Department at (614) 876-7321.

Q. What do I do if there is a dead animal on my road?
A. Norwich Township Roads Department will remove dead animals that are on the roads of the unincorporated areas of Norwich Township. To report a dead animal within the unincorporated areas of Norwich Township during normal business hours, call the Roads Department at (614) 876-2236.  For all other roadways, call either the Franklin County Engineer’s Office at (614) 525-3030 or the City of Hilliard at (614) 876-7361.  Dead animals on private property should be addressed by contacting an animal control company for removal at the homeowner’s expense.

Q. How do I request a street light?
A. Residents can request a street light by filling out the Norwich Township Street Light Application (StreetLightApp) and returning the completed application to the Norwich Township Administrator. Once all property owners at intersecting corners have agreed to the street light AEP will be contacted to determine if and where the light pole can be placed.
